The other teachers had all but given up on this one troubled student named Jonathan. Everyone, that is, except Bill Orr. He took one look and, seeing potential in the boy, decided to make it a personal challenge to help him succeed. Bill sat down with Jonathan, who was known for his energetic outbursts and class disruptions, and discovered the boy had a love for model airplanes. Bill negotiated with Jonathan that every time he sat quietly and completed his work on time without disrupting the class, he would be allowed to work on the model airplane that Bill agreed to provide. Jonathan was ecstatic. Of course, he didn't change over night, but as time went by, Bill's alternative teaching method worked. Bill will never forget the beaming smile on Jonathan's face when he successfully finished both the course and the airplane.
Bill's decision to help Jonathan and others like him is something that he is still proud of today. Of course, it would have been easier to not get involved, but Bill has never been one to take the easy way out. Bill believes the decisions we make along the way can have a profound impact on not only the direction our lives will take, but in the lives of the people around us.

Although his teaching days are behind him now, Bill still looks for unconventional solutions that best serve the needs of his clients. He earned his Master's of Education degree in alternative programming and believes that being a Realtor® requires the same dedication to personal and individualized attention to achieve the best results. In fact, much of his success over his three-decade teaching career and real estate endeavors can be attributed to this type of creative thinking.
