Father's Day Special

Celebrating relationships is about understanding love. And on days like Father's Day, I always think about my relationship with my children, as well as all those other numerous father/child bonds I have witnessed over the years through friends, family, and especially my work. We usually pass off as unsung heros... the men who are there, but aren't always acknowledged. As mommy takes the forefront in parenting, we usually just slip in to the seat next to her, just as the show is about to start. But regardless of how much time we can give to our children, it's the quality that we share in that time that leaves its mark!

I love observing the bond that a father has with his children, even though we don't get as much contact time, I've noticed that fathers know their children in ways that mother doesn't. This unspoken connection comes from that internal love that we share, as our little ones eyes light up when we walk through the door, and the feeling of mutual admiration is evident! During my many years of helping families find their homes, I have seen countless numbers of fathers share that 'new home' experience with their children. When they bring their children to the new home they are going to buy, the look on the face of Dad, as the children squeal in excitement of the new house, and then run up the stairs to stake claim to their room! What I see in those faces isn't just a sense of pride and accomplishment, it's a feeling of inner peace, because as fathers, we work hard to create moments that make a house our home, and the people who surround us - our family.

I found this video on line, that captures moments of fatherhood very beautifully, and I wanted to share it with everyone. All my friends, my family and all those wonderful fathers who are the real heroes in our lives.
