Streetsville

Streetsville is one of Mississauga’s finest and oldest communities located in the northwestern part of the city. Historically dating back 200 years, this area still retains the charm of an old village – but offers the best upgrades compatible with city life. The neighborhood embodies a rich elegant past that has been carried forward over the years, and even to date, the houses, condos, streets, stores and markets represent the village that was once was. The area originated in 1818 when the British made a land purchase of 648,000 acres. Before they introduced it for settlement, the land had to be surveyed, and part of the land was granted to the surveyors as part of their services. Amongst those surveyors was Timothy Street, who established a grist mill near the Credit River, and soon business began to flourish along the banks. The area is now known as Streetsville.
